Well hello there! Ooh my first blog post, it is a bit like writing a diary isn’t it? Well today then I would have to write about the “How much??” -the cost of a celebrant is usually one of the first questions that gets asked and rightly so-you want to know exactly what you are getting for your money.
Compared to let’s say your wedding cake a celebrant really isn’t that expensive at all. An independent celebrant is roughly the same cost as having a registrar to come to your venue, you’d be lucky to meet a registrar beforehand but it is more likely to be whoever is working that day.
My fee of £500 is therefore excellent value for money considering the hours that go into meetings, writing, reading through questionnaires, writing again, meeting again, sending scripts back and forth, playing with ideas for rituals and getting the creative juices flowing so that your love story weaves itself effortlessly through the whole ceremony, the security a couple feels knowing I have gotten to know you so well, the comfort you take knowing that everyone has been walked through the ceremony beforehand, the shared jokes and laughter and dare I say friendships we will make along the way all culminate in an unforgettable experience.
A registrar, would yes, be able to perform the legal bit but there is no reason why you can’t pop into your local register office and do it for about £50 a week before and let me craft a personal, bespoke, unique, one off…you get the gist…ceremony for you. Most celebrants, like myself only perform one ceremony per day, so there is plenty of time for me to arrive, set up chairs if need be, check over the sound system, administer some calming words to my couples and their party before the ceremony begins. Afterwards I can linger for a photo or two with the gorgeous pair before I set off home. No rushing, no stress and certainly not someone who just happens to be working that day.
Oh and did I mention you can have your ceremony anywhere!!! I want to create a magical ceremony just for you, get in touch if you’d like to chat!
